12-Year-Old Girl’s Invention now in Major Mass Retailer

COLUMBIA, SC GaBBY Bows may be in a major retail store near you. The non-slip barrette invention of seventh grade Confidence CEO Gabrielle “GaBBY” Goodwin and her mom Rozalynn debuts on the shelves of Target stores this month.

The young entrepreneur was just five years old when she started daily insisting she and her mom create a barrette that would not disappear from her hair. Gabby and Rozalynn invented GaBBY Bows -- the first and patented Double-Face Double-Snap Barrette and started the company when Gabby was seven years old.

Since then, GaBBY Bows have saved families time, money and frustration in all 50 U.S. states and ten countries.

Gabby is thrilled about the launch. “This dream coming true helps girls know that whatever they put their minds and hard work to, they can achieve.”

Gabby was named the youngest ever South Carolina Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2015 and the 2018 Black Enterprise Teenpreneur of the Year. Their company was named the national SCORE Foundation Outstanding Diverse Business of the Year in 2016.
